Four Sisters From Nowhere

Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Coincidence

“Fine. I worry that all of you will only irritate him even if you stay with him based on your reaction. However, I can’t be the only one responsible for Kaiden because he is a part of our family from now on. You should prepare yourselves mentally, a showdown will happen sooner or later.”

Alexandra did not discuss with them further because she was frustrated with an accounting issue in the company.

*Thud!*

She closed the door of the study with a thud and immersed herself in work.

“Do you think Alex is mad?” asked Luna.

“How is that possible? Alex is the most gentle and considerate one, I’m sure that she’s just busy with work.”

“Yeah, Luna, you’re overthinking. Alex cared about you the most since you were young. Don’t worry.”

Yvonne and Jazmine comforted Luna immediately but they became dejected too when they thought about Kaiden.

The company staff became anxious after Sasha’s expulsion. They stayed at their own posts conscientiously as they were worried that they could get fired anytime for some unknown reason.

Kaiden stared at the document files piled in front of him before taking one casually. He could not help but yawn drowsily after flipping through two pages.

“Yawn… Being the boss of a company is indeed difficult!”

“Where’s the general manager? Get him into my office now!” He made a call.

He tossed his phone to its original position on the desk.

The GM entered his office courteously. “Sir, you were looking for me?”

Kaiden pointed at the piles of documents on his desk. “You have two days to inspect all these documents. Only bring me the contents that I need to look over, don’t bother me with the others.”

“By the way, there’s no need to report to me in detail about trivial matters. It’s a huge company, what’s the use of hiring staff like you if I have to deal with everything like getting a new toilet?”

Intimidated by Kaiden’s terrorizing aura, the GM replied hurriedly, “Yes, Sir. You’re totally right! I’ll inspect these now!”

A drop of sweat fell from his forehead.

He grabbed the files off the desk and scurried out of the office as if he was in Hell.

The desk covered with files was finally empty. Kaiden felt relieved.

He gave the wall clock a glance and decided to go out for a walk.

He was no longer the unnoticeable employee he used to be!

He walked on the bustling street alone as he looked at the skyscrapers, lamenting that he became the chairman of one of them. He continued walking and stopping before finally returning to the villa after purchasing some daily necessities for men from a small-scale supermarket.

The house smelled delicious when he reached home and his stomach growled despite he was not hungry previously.

“I’m back!”

Kaiden pushed the door open and called out to the quiet room.

“You’re right on time! I was going to call you to ask when are you coming back! Come on, it’s dinner time!”

Alexandra walked out of the kitchen with a bowl of hot tomato soup and placed it on the dining table carefully.

The other girls came downstairs and took their respective seats. The only empty seat next to Alexandra was clearly reserved for Kaiden.

He eased up when he saw the seat and he sat down casually.

Yvonne who was sitting on his other side retracted her arms with disgust as if she loathed touching him.

“Don’t mind me, I’m not used to being around men.” She explained uncomfortably.

She felt awfully repulsed whenever she thought that there was a possibility that Kaiden might be her husband.

The memories of her getting bullied by him were still fresh in her mind. There was once when he asked her to eat a bun after stuffing a chili in it. He caused her to choke from the spice and she would hold the grudge forever.

“Oh, really? It’s okay, just hang out with me more. I remember that you like chilis! That’s chili chicken beside you, you should eat more!”

Kaiden brought up the past incident on purpose and watched as Jazmine’s face turned purple instantly. Feeling victorious, he became amused.

He did not expect the sisters to be as innocent and likable as they used to be after all these years.

Alexandra who was seated on the main seat noticed the pile of shopping bags near the door and remembered something abruptly.

“I’ve been careless! We only have girls around here so I didn’t think too much. I forgot to prepare daily necessities for you, I’ve failed as an elder sister.”

She became frustrated and guilty.

Although she did not like Kaiden, he joined her family and she already saw him as a part of it. Therefore, she was negligent in providing him hospitality.

It was actually not a big mistake. It was normal that she did not think about that since only women lived there.

“It’s fine, I already got them. Besides, you wouldn’t know what to buy, it’s better if I buy them on my own.”

“Really?” Worried that Kaiden might be upset, Alexandra stared at him with an innocent expression.

“Yeah. Come on, eat! The food’s getting cold,”

He took a piece of pumpkin and placed it into her bowl.

The other girls interpreted the scene in a totally different way. They glued their eyes on the two to enjoy the show.

‘Although there is indeed an age gap between Alex and Kaiden, it wouldn’t matter if it’s true love!’

Besides, the three of them were open-minded. They would definitely root for Kaiden and their eldest sister with great effort if they truly loved each other!
