The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 290 - 290 Third Red Rain

Anyway, drinking warm milk will not kill her.

Hmm, it was also sweet.

“Have you settled down here?” Kyle asked. He looked at the young woman in front of him, feeling that it was too bad she couldn’t just stay as a cat and stayed still beside him. However, it comforted him that they could spend their time together from time to time depending on what Kate wanted to do.

Kate nodded while sipping the milk. “Yeah, the people here are nice.”

“That’s good.”

Kyle had already seen what his father did and asked Dylan to help here and there. With the public opinion tilted towards them, it was clear that those higher ups wouldn’t be so happy, but why should Kyle care? They were located far away from here and those people they sent were all killed by him.

He would not allow anyone to disturb the quiet life he had here with his woman.

It has been more or less a week since the incident at that time and each and every one of them had started to find other jobs. In their words: let’s stay low for the time being and let the matter passed.

.....

Anyway, it was not like there were many gems left in this area after they had already taken the majority of it.

The crystals from killing giant mutated animals were enough for them to gradually grow stronger. Anyway, their talent was not bad and almost everyone had already reached rank 6 within the past few days.

It was a pleasant surprise for them.

“Finish the milk.” Kyle pointed at the milk, which Kate only drank half.

“Uh… can you help me finish it?” Kate asked Kyle with embarrassed expression. She was full because she had eaten quite a lot during dinner.

Kyle looked at Kate and arched his eyebrows. “Can’t finish it?”

“I’m full…”

“Drinking milk is good to let you grow up faster.”

“I’m already an adult.” Kate glared at Kyle. She’s already 21 years old almost 22, ok?

Kyle chuckled and took the glass from Kate. He drank the rest of the milk easily and then patted Kate’s head. He leaned in, “In that case, give me goodnight kiss?”

Kate’s face turned as red as tomato. She kept on glaring at Kyle as she felt that he was getting more and more outrageous. When she was a cat, he had been huddling her and now, he was openly asking for a kiss.

She can’t keep up with his pace, ah!

Kyle chuckled at Kate’s reddened face. He leaned in and kissed Kate’s forehead. “Sleep well.”

Sitting on the bed, Kate watched Kyle’s departing back, the blush on her face didn’t recede in the slightest bit. She didn’t know why, but she kept on thinking about Kyle and in the end, Kate turned around and buried her face on the pillow.

Everything felt like a dream to her.

From following Kyle to hug his thigh, to being his pet and cared for him, to become his girlfriend at this point.

Ah, Kate felt embarrassed.

She fixed her position and lied on the bed while looking at the ceiling. She had to admit that she was still a bit afraid of going out, but in City E, she felt safe and comforted whenever she was staying near Kyle.

Slowly, Kate closed her eyes.

Beside her room was Kyle’s room and unlike Kate who had fallen asleep, Kyle was using his laptop to have a video meeting with Jake and Dylan. The two of them had been busy lately and Kyle himself was spending most of his time to stay with his girlfriend, so they hadn’t gathered together again.

Jake looked at Kyle’s refreshed face and rolled his eyes. “I can guess what you’ve done based on your expression.”

Kyle arched his eyebrows. “How’s your marriage preparation?”

“It’s going well.” Jake grinned, showing his white teeth. “Our parents are very supportive… well a bit too much actually. They’re busy trying to prepare everything and the two of us can’t really do anything to interrupt.”

“You’ve been dating for years, so it’s not that weird for them to be supportive.” Kyle rolled his eyes. Jake and Lotte had been together since their university days, which was a few years ago. He was sure that their parents were already prepared for their children to get married sooner or later.

“Hehehehehehe.” Jake laughed foolishly.

Not wanting to be fed more dog food, Kyle turned to look at Dylan. “How’s your new office? Your parents are not nagging you because you put yourself in danger, right?”

Dylan’s parents heard about the incident and the dangers in City H, which was why they persuaded Dylan to stay in City H and no longer go on mission. Dylan himself was not that fond for mission and the reason why he made the group back then was to get away from City A and to make a place for him to stay.

Now that they could settle down in City E, Dylan was a bit unwilling to move around.

“Yes.” Dylan nodded. “I’ve already gathered the necessary information to your mail. If you want to, you can settle those people.”

“Thanks.”

Dylan nodded and then looked outside the window. Neither of them were staying in the underground rooms for the time being due to their personal matters. He could faintly hear the rain that was knocking against his window. “Rain.”

“Huh?” Jake looked at the window and jumped there. He looked at the water with surprise. “It’s red rain! Wait, I need to prepare myself on the bed!”

Kyle arched his eyebrows and looked at the rain outside. “116 days.”

“What?” Jake couldn’t understand.

“Since the first red rain. This is the third month, third week, and also the third day after the first red rain.” Kyle looked at Jake and chuckled. “All three.”

Jake’s mouth opened wide. He could never pay attention to the date as much as Kyle. Sitting on his bed, he murmured, “How about the second red rain?”

“Second week, second day, 16 days.” Dylan had also settled down.

“It’s almost midnight, so time to rest.” Kyle glanced at the clock. He didn’t want to faint in weird position.

They all collectively shut down the video call and laid on their bed.
